Styling Photoshoot: Senior Design Students
Designer: Alexis Jones
Designer: Megan O’Casey
Designer: Diamond Wilson
Designer: Claire Woolfall
I had the privilege of styling three photoshoots for the senior designer’s look books. Every week prior to the shoot, I would meet with the designer’s to discuss their planned looks, their hair and make-up vision, their shot list of photoshoot inspiration, and give styling tips. On the actual days of the shoots I would meet the photographer to assist set-up, pick music, and pre-pare the designers garments by cutting loose strings, adjusting the fit on the model, lint-rolling, wiping down shoes to go on set, and give styling tips. Once the model was on set, I would utilize the designers shot lists/shoot inspiration to help pose the models while keeping the garment the center focus. Styling these photoshoots taught me first hand how to work with photographers and designers on a set to follow through on one cohesive vision. I had a lot of fun working on the shoots and learning how to use my merchandising-eye in a real world setting. I hope to work on future photoshoots in the future and work in more stylist settings.
